Modeling non-equilibrium dynamics for ultrafast heat management


​This research program aims at investigating ultrafast heat transfer between non-thermal carriers, phonons and magnons. Taking advantage of our recently developed numerical description of the carrier dynamics based on quantum kinetics approach, we propose to extend the theoretical modeling to non-thermal phonons and magnons interactions. Outcomes of this work range from the nanoscale design of thermoelectric properties of materials to the accurate description of spin relaxation in spin-polarized light-emitting diode and lasers and ultrafast ultrahigh magnetic data storage.
